Brad Neely

Brad Neely is an artist/animator that I have been following for a long time. I found his work on the website SUPERDELUXE.com, which, unfortunately is no longer around. Most people know his animations such as "China, Illinois" and "The Professor Brothers." Neely is well known for his seriously dark humor and sparse line drawings. His figures have little to no real features, or real body shapes but still seem to caricature the movements and characteristics of specific people.
The comic above is just one of a huge number of single-panel comic works from his website, . In the work, a fairly genderless nurse looks out over a nursery of newborns in a hospital. The caption" If I kill them all, there is no way they won't go to heaven," is obviously sinister, but is given in a way that seems to mean well.

If you get time, I highly recommend his web animations: http://www.creasedcomics.com/video.php The "episodes" are never longer than 4 minutes and his animation style is panel-by-panel but gives an interesting illusion of movement and expression.
