Blur between illustration and animation

I found this the other week. Its kind of a long video but its friggin awesome. It opens up a lot of questions for me as far as legality and preparation. Is this whole production legal? Is it somehow done on the sly? Do they clean up afterwards? That would be the polite thing to do. I see a lot of what I do when I'm bored in here. When I'm making a photo-collage on photoshop I like to add abstract elements like non-discript geometric shapes and doodles on strange creatures. It adds a handmade touch to digital work.

I've seen a few other things done by this guy. Each one is about ten minutes. How do they map them out? There are so many evolving elements to this whole production that I can't fathom the process.

  1. What can I say? Awesome video.

I think you can do a little more research and find out the context for the artist's work.

Everyone: Please do more research, and please share the fruits of your labor.

  2. This video.. was just mind blowing. I love seeing animation and illustration combined, especially in this case where the drawings interacted with the 3D environment.

The drawings at blublu.org are extremely graphic.. like he just shoots out one amazing idea after another.

If you believe anything Wikipedia says, there's good reason why this artist is somewhat ambiguous.

Personally, I'm rather fascinated by artists who choose to conceal their identities. More art than artist seems ideal.
If you'll excuse me, Ima go listen to some Daft Punk....
