The artist I chose for week five is an Australian illustrator named Ashley Wood. Wood is well known for his cover art, concept design and his work as an art director. He typically works in mixed media, usually combining oil painting with digital. There is definitely an element of Expressionism in his artwork also. He has been illustrating professionally for about ten years now, and has worked for a bunch of major entertainment companies including Dreamworks, Warner Bros., Marvel, and Konami. I like the texture and how it actually looks decrepit
ReplyDeleteLove the gritty and intense look of the dieing robot compared to the cute and playfulness of the attacking fox! haha wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThe vague detail really adds and eeriness to it. I really like how they made that hand look as if it was behind smoke, its a really good use of atmospheric perspective.
ReplyDeleteI love the pose of the figure and how it falls as if the pollution or rust has brought it down. The bright fox in the fog really draws my attention. It almost seems out of place.
