Week Four - Late - Egon Schiele

The theme I chose for my week four illustrations was fashion. I was ambivalent to fashion before my fashion major friends started asking me to help illustrate their designs. Mainly because my style of drawing consists of figures that are abnormally skinny/elongated (just like models). Which got me thinking about Egon Schiele, who is a huge inspiration. Egon was born in Austria in the late 1890's during the Expressionism movement. However, his career was short lived because he died at the age of 28. His style of drawing/painting is disturbing and focuses heavily on expressive and twisted figures. The figures are usually contorted and pornographic..with an important emphasis on line control. To see more of his work you can view his website here: http://www.egon-schiele.net/
