The reason i like this work is because the first time i saw it in a thumbnail on the DA main page i thought it was a photo. when i clicked it i stared it for a second until it dawned on me that it wasnt actually a photo. it took me a moment to recover from the shock of how my eyes had tricked me. i like the use of texture in her dress and hair as well as how the color easily blends together to form a whole picture and create a believable space. i also like how the artists creates a photographic depth of field by blurring the background as it gets closer to the horizon line.
This is amazing! I thought it was a photo too. It almost remind me of final fantasy game art where they are semi realistic. The coloring and texture are just mind blowing.
ReplyDeleteYou often see a lot of photographic elements in illustrations these days that artists wouldn't have conceived of without photography... depth-of-field, motion blur, lens flares...
