Extra Credit- Joanna Krotka

German born Joanna Krotka doesn't have that much work out there, but the small amount of work she does have the web is awe inspiring. She uses morbid and dream like imagery to intensify the eerie feeling of her work. Many of the characters in her work will be done in monotone colors and put in an eerie setting. Much of what she does has a dark tone to it.  She seems to have been inspired by many different style when looking at her work. She seems highly interesting in the ukiyo-e style of japan as much of her work incorporates that style. This piece seems to be some sort of war inspired work were a wife of the now dead soldier is holding him and kissing him gently on the head.

  1. A lot of her work has some floating element added to its dreaminess and eeriness. I like how she has appropriated this style to her own work.
