Week Six - Michael Hussar
I came across this artist after searching the site http://www.conceptart.org (which is very useful if you are interested in concept art). If you look at Hussars other works of art it's apparent he enjoys creating disturbing and obscene illustrations/paintings. Most of his art centers around a nightmarish character who is deformed or mutilated in some way. In the piece I chose the character is a fat and pale looking clown sucking on a lollipop with huge swollen lips. But the color and texture of the candy imitates blood. This is actually one of his less creepy works. A lot of the other pieces involve nudity or mutilated people with bees covering them. To see more of his art you can visit his website here: http://www.michaelhussar.biz/pages/alla_prima_pg.html

this is so awesome. I'm loving the gore. Also clowns are always a great subject for anything creepy.
ReplyDeleteMan deformed and fat subjects, sounds like this artist was made for me. The colors and shading is great.
ReplyDeletethis is nightmare inducing, and this is one of the less creepy ones?
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed on how real the lollypop looks because its texture is well rendered. Overall, I am creeped out by this piece.
ReplyDeletecreepy...reminds me of a scene from the movie se7en.
ReplyDeleteI love how the sucker simulates blood. I like how this image is creepy even though the clown is not intentionally trying to be. The huge lips is also a nice touch
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite painting by MH cause its looking intensely realistic that's what makes this painting scary.
