this is a male graffiti artist from LA his street name is Retna. in the recent years he has acquired alot of attention because of his unique style with spray paint. his technique comes from his background in painting and his long script like stokes are iconic to his style. graffiti art is still a subculture but by artist like himself and others it has been on the rise and surfacing in mainstream society. acceptance into mainstream society is thought of as a negative opportunity by some graffiti artist and fans. because for some graffiti art is an act toward rebellion of mainstream culture. however recently Retna's work has been featured on the september cover of juxtapoz magazine. he also has a book featuring alot of his work. i couldnt find the name of it.
