I think that political cartoons are valuable in that they can extract the meaning from all the political data out there and express it in a faster and more accessible way than almost anything else can. The drawback of political cartoons is that they do reflect the opinions of the cartoonist or whoever pays him, but that can also be a good thing in media world dominated by at least the pretense of political correctness.Hopehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14986649091150389203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3124378925641768768.post-12804879480323879112011-03-01T20:56:52.007-08:002011-03-01T20:56:52.007-08:00I grew up on Dr. Seuss, but had no idea he did pol...I grew up on Dr. Seuss, but had no idea he did political cartoons! I find it extremely interesting to see his warped organic style of drawing combined with politics. Although these pieces are b&w, he has a precise use of cross-hatching which gives his cartoons more depth.Dawn Fiferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16650173971221453655noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3124378925641768768.post-35684453541700033082011-03-01T16:21:24.207-08:002011-03-01T16:21:24.207-08:00His books are great. I read his books all the time when I was younger. He is a great children's book author and illustrator. He has a unique style. He usually uses bolder colors in his illustrations which make it more childlike. I love his work.Kathleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02305618839083355009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3124378925641768768.post-72846703221711936842011-03-01T12:02:31.760-08:002011-03-01T12:02:31.760-08:00UGH!

Still respect the man's mad skillz, though.Vadim Flakshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01241174148157889176noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3124378925641768768.post-26805174933581463472011-03-01T08:53:42.566-08:002011-03-01T08:53:42.566-08:00I knew that he had a ton of hidden messages, or de...I knew that he had a ton of hidden messages, or deeper layers to his books. I even know that he has a day in the US dedicated to him but I was unaware of his political cartoons and films. Your right he does need more credit.mat stoverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10781328268692112058noreply@blogger.com
